Women in Australia – What’s Wrong With This Picture?
Australia has fallen to 36th in 2015 from 15th in 2006 in the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap 2015 rankings.
Australia ranks No 1 in the WORLD for educating women! No 1!
I don’t know about you – but this makes me mad. It’s outrageous!!
If you have a daughter – her economic security is not looking good in this country.
That says to me that all the work we are doing around diversity and inclusion in this country is not working. I am frustrated on a daily basis with the ‘tokenistic’ and ‘tick a box’ approach to diversity and inclusion in MOST organisations. Having worked in this space with major organisations and government departments and CEO’s and senior leaders: I can tell you right now, this approach will not work. You may as well do nothing. Keep your money in your pocket – your ROI will be zip!
Phew …but I refuse to apologise for my rant because I think its justified and backed up by these outrageous statistics!
In calming down though I want to tell you that I have seen CEO’s and leaders who HAVE got this right – and their results speak for themselves. If you are ready to get serious – I’m happy to share those stories with you.
