Celebrating International Women’s Day 2017 and 10 years of my mentor
This years’ International Women’s Day (8th March 2017) is a very special one for us. Not only are we celebrating working towards forging a more inclusive, gender equal world, but we are also extremely proud to be celebrating 10 years of the my mentor: Courageous Woman program.
Our program has helped women to build confidence, resilience and the determination to say ‘give me that job’!
This week is also Queensland Women’s Week (6th – 12th March 2017), which encourages women to participate and pursue leadership roles – this is what our program is all about.
We’ve mentored over 30,000 women over the past 10 years within hundreds of organisations all over the world. Why has the program had such reach? Quite simply, because it works.
But there is still a massive global gap between men and women, did you know that women hold only 12% of the world’s board seats?
Have a look at our latest video celebrating courageous women throughout the world, we hope you’ll enjoy watching it as much as we’ve enjoyed making it:
my mentor: Courageous Woman supports the building of female pipeline in businesses, through a 12 module development program. With proven success it gets results that are measurable, with the added benefit of many heartfelt personal challenges conquered.
Here’s some real stories from some of our participants:
“I have learned that if l focus and commit myself I can do anything.”
“I re-entered the workforce not to my previous position but to another position that has helped me get back on track and to really think about what I want to do in the future.”
“I have made some very valuable friendships and met some amazing and inspirational people.”
“I have come to know who I am and what I am passionate about.”
“I don’t want to be remembered for the victim status I want to be remembered for the wow factor.”
“I needed to do something to keep me busy so l went to our local gym and enlisted the help of a personal trainer. I dedicated my time to the gym and my diet and l lost 27kgs but the best thing is that I have maintained that weight for the last 9 months.”
Why a “women’s” program I hear you ask? If men and women are different – why do we insist on taking a ‘one size fits all’ approach to development, engagement, collaboration, innovation?
My mentor: Courageous Woman has been designed based on the rules of marketing to women. This program is not about fixing women, it’s about giving them the tools they need to navigate their lives and careers – because men and women are DIFFERENT!
